URNON.com is an urban inspired online store featuring NON
Apparel [manufacturing supported by cafepress.com]. NON or (No
One’s N-word) is a social/political clothing line and a voice for people
who realize the damage words can do. NON apparel understands
freedom of speech and expression but isn’t afraid to tackle
disrespect towards people. NON apparel is for individuals who
refuse to forget about the struggles of all men and women who came
before us. NON represents everyone who says no to ignorant and
abusive behavior.
The use of the N-word hidden in our logo (besides the shock value)
is to confront the word and not endorse it!
It is so heavily used in hip hop now that it doesn’t even shock those
who listen to hip hop anymore. However, it does infuriate millions of
hip hop listeners who love the music but don’t want to hear the word.
At NON we loves hip hop; however, we don’t always like where it’s
going (along with certain movies, TV shows, radio shows, etc...)
Our tagline says –
“You can call me brother... Even call me son... But I’m... NON!”
OR
“You can call me sister... Even call me girlfriend... But I’m... No One’s
Bitch!”
OR
“You can call me bro... Even call me dude... But I’m... NO One's
Whitetrash!”
“No matter who you are...Respect yourself!!!”
As a testimonial, Mr. Williams, (of New York, NY), an Area
Development Director for a major national minority funding
organization stated in an email to NON, “I ordered 2 of the NON t-
shirts (online) and love them and the message… this is a great
initiative… I personally support it... I wish you much success.”
NON Apparel has made a buzz online, at colleges (Boston- New
York) and most recently at the Black Expo 2007, NYC. NON appeal to
all people whose lives are touched by “urban”,” hip hop” culture.
Hip Hop is not about:
Pants hanging of your ass... Being gangsta... Stayin on the block...
I’m a "killa" or coke "deala!”... Hundred bills rolled up in a rubber
band... Duffle bags... Mobsters, gangsters and pimps... Bullet proof
vests... Liquor and guns... She only after my money – Hoe... In the
back seat givin it up – BITCH... And many other abuses...
The phrase “keeping it ghetto” sounds more like “KEEPING IT
BACKWARDS”!!! No forward progress!!! So then what???
Thank God for the few entertainers who refuse to compromise their
values like Common, Alicia Keys, Lupe Fiasco, and more...

NON is educating, empowering and unifying the urban community by
making inspirational clothing a hot, new fashion trend. NON’s
education process is implemented through popular graphic designs,
slogans, reminders of the great people from the past and their
legacies.
Many organizations are trying to ban or abolish the N-word which is
admirable but impractical. You can’t just turn off a word deeply
rooted in history and in the minds of many. Education about the N-
word and its' use is key. There is no greater influence than the
power of choice.
The bottom line is nothing speaks to America like ‘popular culture’!
NON is that new pop culture. "NON Apparel will get to the place
where the logo needs no explanation and is a part of the new pop
culture."

NON Apparel – (08-16-2003) is the creation of Val Rose. Growing up
in Bronx, NY I was exposed to a wide range of slang terms and
expressions. However, still today, there are a few words I just cannot
come to terms with using such as “niggas”, “bitches”, “hoes”, “white
trash”, “fag” / “homo”, etc...; and the use of word ‘nigger’ aka “nigga”
(especially as a term of endearment) is a major problem for me!!!
Imagine many years later after great struggle and sacrifice, activist
are still fighting to stop racial abuses such as the use of the N-word.
It has become so common place that you can even hear it on popular
public radio stations where disc jockeys blatantly use the word from
time to time, negatively influencing a whole generation. Instead, they
should be using their influential powers to make positive changes,
raising the standard by which people are measured. The Michael
Richards' 'outburst', Imus’ 'media slip-up’, and Dog “The Bounty
Hunter's” 'recorded phone conversation', and more... will continue to
happen until we hold ourselves and others to a higher standard.

For the first time in US history, an African American, Sen. Barack
Obama, is on the verge of the American presidency!! Americans are
“fired-up” about cultural diversity and ready for positive change. NON
Apparel will help lead the way in the urban fashion market! We
believe the time is right for a “NON Apparel” fashion frenzy!!!
NON Apparel has made a buzz online, at college events from Boston
to New York City, at the Black Expos, and as a sponser of Black
History Month (Feb. ’08) at Hot 93.7fm -Hartford’s #1 Hip-Hop Radio
Station. NON Apparel was featured live on HOT 93.7’s “Morning
Crew” show and “Urban Voices” with DJ Buck.

NON Apparel refuses to just sit back and do nothing. With your help
and support we can change the world and create a “NON generation
for all!
Remember:
Be Strong... Be Now... Be NON!!!
